An overview of the Seektech product line:

Ridgid is a relative newcomer to utility locating. You are undoubtedly aware that their plumbing and pipe fitting products have set the standard in the US and abroad for over 80 years. The Seektech line of utility locators continues that tradition of innovative and uncompromising professional tools with the quality and customer support that have set Ridgid apart for generations.

The Seektech underground locators are revolutionizing the industry for three main reasons:

  1. First, they utilize omni-directional antennae that can pinpoint the direction of the signal regardless of the orientation of the receiver.
  2. Second, their advanced computer algorithms combine the data from the antennae in real-time, giving the operator an instant measurement of the quality of the locate.
  3. Third, the user interface is simple, easy to understand, and gives the operator all of the necessary information on one screen in real time.

Seektech is the only system on the market today that lets you approach the target line from any direction. All other locators have to be aligned perpendicularly to the buried utility, which means you already need to have an idea of where that utility is. In fact, the Ridgid Seektech locators display the direction of the target line in order to orient the operator. This makes it a useful tool for blind sweeps.

Seektech is the only system that confirms the locate with independent antennae in real time, giving you a strong indication of the amount of distortion. With other locators, you have to check your locate twice: once in peak mode, and once null mode. The Ridgid Seektech system does away with this cumbersome task. With traditional line locators, if the operator fails to compare the peak and null readings he could easily be off target by a number of feet. The simple removal of this additional step significantly reduces the risk of a potentially fatal operator error.

Seektech is the only system on the market that simultaneously displays four independent readings, allowing for greater confidence and speed.
